Hello I’m Kelly Fernandes, I offer online and telephone therapy to adults across the UK.

I support people who are struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, grief, or a sense of being stuck in unhelpful patterns or painful past experiences.

As a registered and professionally trained counsellor with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work in accordance with their ethical and professional standards. I provide support to adults from all backgrounds and life experiences.

My approach

Psychodynamic therapy is a trusted way to help those who are struggling. Instead of just focusing on the problems or symptoms you’re facing, it looks deeper at the feelings, thoughts, and inner conflicts that might be

contributing to them.

This kind of therapy is different from quick fixes that may only help for a little while and then leave us stuck again. It offers a chance to explore what’s really going on, so lasting change can happen.

Our work together, aims to build:

  • Self-awareness and emotional clarity
  • Freedom from self-judgement and unhelpful habits
  • A path out of feeling stuck, when painful past experiences continue to affect the present

How sessions work

  • Weekly 50-minute sessions
  • Online or telephone-based
  • Consistent day and time each week
  • Confidential and secure

Common issues I support with

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Low self-esteem and self criticism
  • Work related stress and burnout
  • Grief, loss and bereavement
  • Childhood traumatic experiences and complex family dynamics
  • Relationship and intimacy difficulties
  • Compulsive or self-sabotaging behaviours
  • Navigating life transitions and identity shifts
  • Affirmative support for LGBTQ+ clients and their experiences

What my clients say

Clients often describe gaining a deeper sense of self-awareness and empowerment through our work together. Many notice a shift in how they relate to themselves - speaking with more compassion and clarity, rather than criticism.

They also report that the space we create offers fresh perspectives that lead to meaningful changes in their day-to-day thoughts and behaviours.

Many clients have also shared that they felt safe to explore painful or previously unspoken feelings and experiences. They describe this process as giving a voice to parts of themselves that had been hidden or silenced - allowing those aspects to be met with understanding, rather than shame or fear.

Getting Started

Beginning therapy can feel like a big step - and it’s normal to feel unsure. What matters most is not having the answers but a willingness to begin.

I’m happy to offer a free 15-minute phone chat, with no pressure or commitment, to help you get a feel for whether this might be the right space for you. Please email me if you’d like to set up a time.

Services & Fees

I currently offer online and telephone sessions only.

Sessions last 50 minutes, taking place on a weekly basis and cost £55 per session.

If you’re considering therapy, you’re welcome to arrange a free 15-minute phone call to see if this space feels right for you.

If we decide to continue, the next step is an initial consultation (60–90 minutes, £65).

This session offers time to explore what you’d like support with, discuss any questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit. There’s no obligation to proceed beyond this point.

Feel free to contact me, if you have any questions or would like to make a booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is counselling and how can it help me?

Counselling is a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours with a trained therapist. It can help you understand yourself better, manage challenges, and make meaningful changes in your life.

What can I expect at my first (Initial consultation) session?

During the initial consultation, we’ll talk about what’s brought you to counselling, what you hope to gain from it, and how we might work together. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions and get a feel for whether this approach feels right for you.

This session typically lasts a little longer than regular weekly sessions, allowing us the time to explore your background, current concerns, and what you’d like to focus on in therapy. The fee for this is £65

Is what we discuss in our sessions confidential?

Yes, what you share in counselling is confidential. There are some exceptions, such as if there is a risk of serious harm to you or others, or if I’m legally required to disclose information.

As a registered member of the BACP, I also attend regular supervision - a confidential, professional process where I discuss my work with a qualified supervisor. This helps ensure I’m practising ethically and effectively. No identifying details about you are shared.

If you have any questions or concerns about confidentiality, we can talk through them in our first session.

How many sessions will I need, and do you offer sessions in person?

The number of sessions varies. Some clients feel better after just a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term therapy. We’ll regularly review your progress together.

I currently offer sessions online or by telephone only, which can be ideal if you prefer remote therapy or are unable to attend in person
